print layout to HPDesignJet Z6dr V-Trimmer not respecting set up properties from ArcGIS Pro

Question

Hello,

I've set up dimensions and settings for a layout in ArcGIS Pro in order to send to a HP plotter but the the product is short 4 inches in width from what I want, every time. I want to print a layout with the dimensions 36' H x 48' L (ARCH E) but for some reason the paper is just cut off at 44 inches. I am using a 36 inch width paper roll so I use landscape setting and it of course prints sideways to accommodate the settings. When I use the application, HP Click, to throw PDFs in and set up the dimensions there, and print from there, it prints fine. What is going on between ArcGIS pro and the plotter? I'll send pictures of the settings I use in ArcPro. I realize too that it could be a driver issue as well. But if someone has had a similar issue and has solved it, please help!

I can 100% confirm @Joshua-Young 's approach to export to PDF and go from there.  
You may still find a few niggles and have to switch between postscript & the HP native drivers but WAY less issues than having Pro manage the plotter. 
Not familiar with your model but some will even take a usb with a pdf and complete a job that would fall over in over-network or via print server mode.  Very handy for those BIG A0 banner jobs where you can't rely on Pro nor Windows to not poo the bed after a few hours 🙂

Thanks for your response! Yep, I'm having a heck of time and am exploring whether it might be some driver issues. I'm continuing to search but if I really can't find anything I'll just resort to HP Click. Unless someone finds out the mystery.

I gave up trying to print directly from ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro a long time ago. Whether it was a plotter or desk inkjet printer there were always issues with printing (usually scaling where the map would be bigger than the page size or shrunk to only like 1x2 inches). The printout would look find in the ArcGIS preview.

I recommend exporting to PDF and then using PDF software or software from the plotter company. I have enjoyed using HP Click to send prints in PDF format to our HP DesignJet Z6dr with V-Trimmer.
