What are the international standards of creating a Geodatabase.

Hi,

I heard from someone regarding the international standard of creating a geodatabase. What is it exactly. Is it specific to geodatabase or feature dataset/ feature class. Can anyone help me regarding this.

You'd probably be better off asking the person who introduced the concept what they're
talking about. There are more "standards" than you can shake a stick at, but the odds
of there being any one international standard for geodatabase creation, even in any one
domain, seems awful slim.

To the best of my knowledge, there is no such standard. This may be a reference
to a *metadata* standard, but there are several of these as well.

Hi Sandy,

Perhaps the person you spoke with was referring to the Esri Industry Data Models? Some include suggested geodatabase schemas.

A google on "metadata standard" should get you started (amazingly enough, you
don't need to include 'geospatial' as a search term).
