Basemap gallery switches to default esri basemap gallery

Question

When I publish a publicly shared web map to a web application (for example: basic viewer web app), share the web app with the public as well, the basemap gallery in the Web app switches to the default esri basemap gallery instead of the Organization's basemap gallery.

Note that I made the Basemap Gallery group along with the basemaps in it Public as well.

Is this a bug?

The templates make a call to the organization to find out details about custom base maps, units, custom services etc. Here's the url to the call it makes so you can see the type of information that is returned.

In the example above the base map gallery group query is set to the default group owned by esri_en. It looks like your org doesn't have anonymous access enabled which means that people who access your application and are not signed-in will get the ArcGIS.com defaults instead of your org settings.

Hi,

I am having a similar issue with my site whereby the publicly shared basemaps only appear to users who are logged in to the organisation. The public only see the default esri basemaps.
