ArcGIS Collector Distance to Asset threhold Values

It would be very useful if Collector had a feature that prevented the device user from updating an existing assets attributes (including position) unless they were within a specified distance from that asset, say 5 meters. This would ensure that the user would have to be onsite and not performing updates remotely. I understand there are tracking layers which could be used as a post collection audit to prove collectors were on site but this functionality would prevent that audit from ever being required as it would prevent collection in the first place. Please do not confuse this with "required accuracy" from the collect settings pop up menu in collector.
