They're very nice dashboard. Thanks for sharing!
I'm just curious about the dashboard from the City of Baton Rouge, LA. How can they make those tabs separately and the general filter? Is there any custom coding involved?
Thanks!
Hi Vi,
The tabs are created by stacking Dashboard elements, and the general filter is enabled with selectors. All of this can be done with configuration, no coding needed.
Hope this helps,
Hi Derek,
Thanks for your tips. What I needed to learn is "Grouping the elements". It works perfectly!
Best,
Is it possible to see a sample of the data used to create these dashboards? Is all of the data in one layer, or are they pulling from multiple layers?
Hi April,
I don't own these Dashboards, nor did I create them. All were shared with me via several different methods. So unfortunately, I can't comment on your question about the data sources. Sorry.Did you have a specific question that you wanted to ask?
Thanks Derek!
I was just trying to determine if all of the data was coming from the same feature service, or if they were somehow displaying data based upon other layers.
For example, I have a layer of Storm Damage points and a layer of county boundaries. I want to show how many points are in each county on my dashboard.
April,
Our data is available at 311 Citizen Requests for Service | Open Data BR
We are using a few boundaries layers in order to do spatial filters.
I built a web map for every category of 311 call and added the boundary layers to each:
I hope this helps.
I work with the City of Baton Rouge and made the 311 Citizen Request for Service dashboard.
Thank you for highlighting our dashboard! It's always nice to have your work recognized.
If anyone has any questions I'd be happy to share any tips or tricks.
Thanks again,
Brandon Jumonville
Thanks for commenting on the thread Brandon, really appreciate the help!
Absolutely LOVE your 311 Dashboard. The Dev team and I have shown it off as a great live example several times!FYI, I tweeted to promote it back in Sept,Derek Law on Twitter: "Excellent 311 #Dashboard by @TheCityofBR built on #OpsDashboard for #ArcGIS - click bottom tabs t…

The head of my department showed that tweet to my supervisor... super cool!!!
Most of my work has been with the Baton Rouge Police Department through Public Safety Common Operational Platform (PSCOP) , and we don't share those dashboards out publicly.
There are some great dashboards in there though, so I'm added a few screenshots.
The Daily Ops shows all vehicle locations and CAD incidents (near-real time within 1 minute)
The Roll Call Dashboard is for officers coming on shift to view what happened in their patrol areas on their last shift (yesterday), the off-going's previous shift, one day, week, four weeks
I lovingly call this my "Jurassic Park" dashboard because I was "so interested if I could that I never stopped to ask if I should". This dashboard is massive in every sense... the data, the widgets and how they interact, queries, and spatial filters. It can do just about anything but the performance is extremely clunky....
but, it was definitely a learning opportunity and lead to the Current Operational Picture Dashboard. This dashboard gives commanders and decision makers a quick "heads up display" of CAD calls and reported crime, their trends, and various other metrics to gauge how the department is running. I "trimmed the fat" from the 6 month crime tracker and tweak a few other things.
Thanks for letting me share our work Derek!
Hi Brandon,
Apologies for the late reply. I have been out of the office on business travel the last several weeks.
Belated thanks for sharing screenshots and additional info on your other Dashboards - they look awesome! Perhaps if you have time in the forthcoming weeks we could discuss your Dashboards on a call? I would be interested in hearing your feedback. If you are interested, can you please send me an email: dlaw@esri.com and we can make some arrangements?
Thanks again for sharing and contributing to Ops Dashboard GeoNet forums,
City of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada - 311 Service Request dashboard
Awesome integrating 311 calls and building a beautiful Dashboard. I am looking to doing something similar. Some of my clients use 311 for public works request and etc. I was just wanted to know how you are integrating 311 calls that update in your Dashboard and are you using python to automate and create points every time you get a new 311 service call or are field workers using Survey123 or collector? We are using AGOL to host Dashboards and other web maps. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.
Thanks,
Jeremy
