Autolabels not showing up in Flexviewer

I've started working on a new application with the Edit widget.  I want to bring in the parcel labels which are set in my MXD but they will not show up in the live application.  The labels even show up when I check the rest endpoint, but they aren't coming through. 

With this configuration if I change the "Parcels" to type=dynamic, the operational layers disappear.  Any help would be appreciated.  I've contacted ESRI but haven't found a solution yet.

Labels are not supported by layers of type="feature".

If you connect to the whole map service (using type="dynamic"), instead of an individual layer using type="feature", then it should work.

"dynamic" refers to a map services that hasn't been cached. The service directory will list it as "Single Fused Map Cache: false".  Its URL should never end with a number.

"feature" refers to any individual layer in either a MapService or a FeatureService. The URL should always end with a number (that indicates which individual layer).
