Hide measurement units

Question

How do I hide units in the measurement widget?

There doesn't seem to be a method in the JS API to hide a unit. As an added note, I know how to add units to the unitDictionary and add them into the location and area dropdown menus, but I don't know how to remove unwanted units from the menus.

I think you're right, but I'm curious if you just want to hide the "non-metric" ones? (which I think is the most common scenario).
Or do you want even more fine-grained control?

Correct, I only want to hide the non-metric units.

EDIT: Although, an added way to write which units are shown from the Measurement drop-down menu would be even better.
