Datastore Upgrade

Question

Hello,

I am trying to perform an upgrade of ArcGIS Datastore from 10.6.1 to 10.8.1 following the following instructions

Upgrade ArcGIS Data Store—Portal for ArcGIS | Documentation for ArcGIS Enterprise

The Datastore application upgrades successfully in Programs and Features, and the Datastore service shows as running. However, both the configuredatastore.bat and https://localhost:2443/arcgis/datastore processes fail with the following error

Additionally, running describedatastore.bat produces the following error

Error encountered: The data store machine may not have been initialized

Has anyone successfully upgraded datastore successfully using the link above? Or has anyone seen these issues?

What is the datastore.lastknownstatus and localstore.lastknownstatus in \arcgisdatastore\data\etc\arcgis-data-store-config.json? Do you see a upgrade.txt in that same directory?

Thanks for your reply. Yes, we did perform a full upgrade of ArcGIS Server to 10.8.1 prior as well as the web based Continue Server Upgrade process, which took roughly an hour. The upgrade of ArcGIS Server to 10.8.1 was verified in https://<ArcGIS Server>:6443/arcgis/admin management console, as well as installed programs in "Programs and Features". Our current setup is single site.

ArcGIS Server needs to be fully upgraded to 10.8.1 before upgrading ArcGIS Data Store to 10.8.1. Did you run through the ArcGIS Server upgrade (ie. running the software setup) and post-upgrade step (ie. 'Continue Server Upgrade' from ArcGIS Server Manager)? If ArcGIS Server is a multi machine site, all machines participating in the site will need to be upgraded before ArcGIS Data Store
