Disable editing on related tables (hosted)

I would like to disable editing existing features on related tables but not on the parent feature class.

I can't figure out how to do this through the feature settings page.

Is there a way to do this?

HI,

I found this article Service definitions | ArcGIS for Developers on updating service definitions. This has a walk-through on how to change the feature capabilities, however it gives me an error "Unable to update capabilities". Does anyone know if it is possible to update the capabilities of related tables? Is this a database side restriction?
