Spatial Join model builder

Hi,

Ive been tasked with joining data from a point feature class  located within a polygon to the polygon. I know the manual way of doing:

• Right click on polygon feature class
• select join 
• choose join data from another layer based on spatial location
• choose the point feature class as the layer to join

I wondered if there was:

• a way to make it in model builder to automate it
• to not create a new output shape file

I am pretty new to model builder so any guidance would be appreciated or a point in the right direction!

Any tool can be added to model builder.  However, many tools, and spatial join is one of them, has an output layer: you should be able to write it to the 'in memory' space so it's not permanent .
