Create point data from eastings and northings stored in a CSV

Hi,

Presumably this would be a simple task but I cannot find clear instruction in the ArcMap help menu on how to create/plot points from a CSV file that has columns storing eastings, northings, and the zone of the points. In my case I believe the zone corresponds to the projected coordinate system. So far I have only seen forums describing manual methods for creating points from eastings and northing by starting with an empty new shapefile, but my CSV file has nearly a million records.

Is there a simple tool in ArcMap 10 to do this?

Hi,

If you can confirm the projection and units, it's as simple as adding xy events.
