How to add Map notes from ArcGIS Online to desktop

Hi,

Im trying to convert some Map notes features that a colleague has created into shapefiles. I have a series of lines and circles in a web mapand wish to export these as shapefiles. I ran a quick test on a dummy map note layer i created using the guidelines in the following link (Crowdsourced Data: ArcGIS Online | Environmental Data Center ) and everything worked ok. When i try to recreate this with the layer i need the map notes layer does not show up on the desktop version.

the map notes layer is saved as a feature layer in the group i created and i have full sharing access to the group.

You can publish that map notes layer from the item details after you do a Save Layer and you can export the map notes layer once published to a feature service or you can access that new feature service in desktop and create a local copy of it. You could also perform analysis on the map notes layer in the web map and export as a shapefile.
