Street features imported into the parcel fabric?

Our current workflows require a specific set of data layers to edited at the same time as our parcels. One of these data layers is a street segment layer. Would it make sense to edit street segments in the parcel fabric? Can you create street line features using the Parcel Editor? Is it required to create a parcel before adding street line segments?

Are my street centerlines supposed to have small area around them after they have been migrated? I migrated a topology with a empty area, but i still got area in my parcel fabric. I want to just have the lines in my parcel fabric.

Yes, that's the expected behavior for un-closed parcels.  I would suggest that you load those as connection lines if you only want to have the lines as part of your Parcel Fabric - or simple associate those lines so that they will move along as the Parcel Fabric moves and adjusts.

Hi

Yes it is. In the topology, make sure to mark the lines that are not covered by parcels as exceptions. The topology loader will import these as unclosed parcels.

The only limitation with this is that any attributes on the lines are not transferred into the parcels table - we are fixing that for the next release. However, I am currently writing an Add In that will transfer unclosed parcel attributes from the lines to the parcels table during import.
