What removes the disconnected replicas from the GIS server?

Question

My ArcGIS Server is accumulating two-way replicas at a faster than predicted pace.  I assumed the replicas and their associated versions were being removed when the user deleted the map from the ipad, but the behavior I see contradicts that assumption.  What triggers one of these "Ags_Fs" replicas and associated version to be deleted?

I am experiencing the same issue. Collector 10.4 for iOS.
