Request to add Analytics

Question

I noticed that the source code for the open data sites include script that loads the Google Analytics js and sends page hit information to an analytics property (or at least that is what I think is going on). I am glad ESRI is tracking this, but can organizations add their own tracking ID anywhere in the widgets that will send hit data to our own tracking site?

This would be incredibly useful as right now D3 has no way of knowing just how many people are using this so far, and have no idea how many more resources we should invest in improving our site.

We have a desire to track this as well. If it's doable, it's my understanding we just need to know where to insert our tracking code. Where do the metrics that show up beside the datasets come from now?

I'd like to see analytics for everything from page requests to dataset downloads. This gives organizations feedback and confirmation that the investment in Open Data is resulting in a more engaged community.

Is this something Esri has plans for within ArcGIS Online?
