The first page of the "Add Line Event" panel is very confusing to field workers who don't need to be familiar with the language of LRS. The ability to add instructions for each field would help a lot, but ideally I'd simply hide the elements they shouldn't be using.
For example, this is the current workflow:

Most of the elements on the form are either auto-populated, default values, or unused. All the irrelevant information is confusing to users. Particularly:
- Route Name and Measure values, which automatically populate text boxes after "to/from" points are dropped on the map. These don't mean anything to the users and they'll never change the values via the text boxes anyway.
- Checkboxes (i.e. use route start/end measures, use route start/end dates, and merge/retire behavior): In this project, the checkbox statuses are the same for every event. Ideally, we could set each checkbox's default status and hide it from view.
- Default values that users will never need to touch: In our case, the Start Date will always be the current date. The form defaults to this anyway; I wish it would just use the default value and keep the field hidden or non-editable.
If we could hide all those unnecessary elements, their form becomes much simpler:
