Survey123: Error when make survey public

Question

Hi everyone,

I’m running into an issue when trying to make a Survey123 survey public.

Whenever I go to Survey → Collaborate, check “Everyone (Public)”, and click Save, I get the following error:

“Unable to share item.”

My goal is to allow people without an ArcGIS account to access and submit the survey.

I’m the organization administrator and owner, and I’ve already configured the organization to allow public access, but the error still occurs.

Has anyone experienced this before or knows what might be causing it? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi @LucasBmm704 ,

If your account is a trial, then this is likely expected behavior.

Content can not be shared publicly in ArcGIS Online trial accounts. It looks like this was implemented around 2024.

If you end up converting your trial account to a paid subscription you should be able to share this publicly! 🙂

Hi,

Yes, these are standard forms created within my organization.

I tested creating the form through both the Survey123 web interface and the ArcGIS API for Python, but I encountered the same error in both cases.
