Error Message - Failed to create the metric

Question

Hey All,

I am getting the following severe error message in the ArcGIS server logs:

Failed to create the metric 'agm-e5718927-4b85-4152-b48d-6011bd535693'. A JSONObject text must begin with '{' at character 1

Does anyone know how to figure out which metric is causing this error to occur. I cannot find any matching id in ArcGIS monitor and this is all the info that it gives me.

Hi @DerekLaw,

Just in case someone else is having a similar problem I figured out the issue. I narrowed the error down to the following observer. Monitoring -> ArcGIS Server -> Observers -> Inventory - ArcGIS Server

If I disable this under Edit Observer the errors stop. "Reset to defaults" continues to produce the error.

We are using ArcGIS Monitor 2026.0.1 but I will put in a request with Esri Tech Support to see what they make of it.

Which release of ArcGIS Monitor are you using?

> all the metrics appear to fine in ArcGIS Monitor so it's just this error that appears every 5mins in the logs.

Please contact Esri Tech Support and they can help you investigate further. I wonder if this might be a bug.
