ArcGIS Hub, ArcGIS Hub Premium, and ArcGIS Enterprise Sites supported classic edit mode for Hub management. Workspaces became the default experience in June 2025. Classic edit mode is replaced by workspaces—the improved management experience in Hub. Workspaces modernizes and streamlines the Hub management experience and adds value through new functionality.
Below are details of the deprecation, which may be subject to change:
- ArcGIS Online – At the ArcGIS Hub June 2026 release classic edit mode will no longer be available. It is replaced by workspaces.
- ArcGIS Enterprise – Enterprise Sites 11.5 is the last version to include classic edit mode. It is replaced by workspaces in Enterprise 12.0. Refer to the ArcGIS Enterprise product lifecycle.
Upon retirement, users who have previously opted out of workspaces will be automatically opted in and classic edit mode will no longer be available.
