using subtype group layers with utility network model

Question

Hello all,

I am wanting to add subtype group layers to my map. Our business uses the utility network model for electricity, so when I add the UN feature service all the feature classes are included.

Am I able to use subtype group layers in this scenario? If I start with adding the un service, then try to add subtype group layers I end up with two Electric Line feature classes in the contents pane. If I remove the initial layer (from un service) does that cause any problems?

Ive had a look here but it doesnt mention anything about duplicate layers or anything like that. Configure a map for ArcGIS Utility Network | Documentation

If when you added the Utility Network to a map, you clicked yes to the pop up, then you will have to remove those layers from the map.  When adding the Utility Network controlled classes to the map and you want subtype group layers/tables, you have to add those classes with the Add Data - Subtype Group Layer button.

There is no problem with removing the duplicate feature layers from your map. In the future, you can just add the subtype group layers first, then manually add the rest of the layers from the service (utility network, service territory, etc).
