Path Forward - Enterprise Builder 10.9.1, Individual Components upgrade to 11.2. How to upgrade to 12.0?

Hello all,

I have a single machine deployment. It was originally installed with Enterprise Builder 10.9.1. Later, it was upgraded to 11.2 using individual components. Clearly, not the recommended path but it's what I have to work with.

I fear using Enterprise Builder or individual components will only create chaos and break the system. I can't be the first person in this situation. Unfortunately, searches and AI are failing to provide any valuable answers. 

What is the best path forward to 12.0?

I hope you are well.

If you had ArcGIS Enterprise deployed by Enterprise Builder and you did an upgrade manually, you can no longer upgrade using Enterprise Builder.

Given that at 12, there are a lot of features that are retired. I would attempt to upgrade from 11.2 to 11.5 and once at 11.5 I would get rid of the tileCache Data Store which is replaces by the Object Store.

I will also look at the documentation: https://enterprise.arcgis.com/en/get-started/latest/windows/upgrade-arcgis-enterprise.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_F76F3D1215174CAE8C830191AB85508A and I will take into account also at other features that are retired at 12.

If you have Enterprise Geodatabase in place, considerations should be followed as per our documentation in terms of Supported Minimum version.

Only after checking the above, I would attempt to upgrade from 11.5 to 12.0

Throughout the steps, please ensure that you take a backup at any stage in case things do not go as planned.
