Modify vertices failed. Field not found

Question

Getting the following error when attempting to modify vertices in a feature class that I was previously able to modify. What may be causing this?

Weird thing, I can add a join from a standalone table and then edit the vertices and the edit will take.

Symbology was not tied to an attribute in the joined table and was created prior to the join. Problem did persist after making the symbology simple.

I ended up exporting it to a new feature class and that one was working.

I did remove it and restart ArcPro, add it back in and the message stopped coming up and was able to edit the original feature class.

I've never seen that message before so had me curious if there was a reason behind it.

Another workflow to try is export the feature class out to a new feature class and retry your workflow.  Does the error message persist?

Could the symbology possible be based on a joined table's attribute?

Also does the problem persist after making symbology not based on any field? Is it on the Simple Symbol type?

If it is, have you tried removing the layer, restarting pro, and readding the layer?
