Reporter Instant App: "Web map does not contain any editable layers"

Question

I'm creating an instant app in AGOL using the "Reporter" template and I'm getting the error "Web map does not contain any editable layers", even though the web map I'm using definitely contains an editable hosted feature layer. I've triple-checked the settings on the layer: public data collection is enabled, editing is enabled.

What's the problem?

Hi @HannahWilson3 we reproduced and are tracking this issue as BUG-000183128 : Reporter Instant App displays error message "Web map does not contain any editable layers." when there is a feature layer with sublayers in the web map with the Update setting disabled. It is under review by the product team.

We don't want users to be able to update/delete features, but enabling those options did fix the error.
