A little over three months into my role as an Inside Sales Representative at Esri, the biggest word that comes to mind is momentum. Compared to my first month, when everything felt new and exciting, I now feel grounded, confident, and energized by how quickly things are moving forward.
Coming in with a GIS background gave me a strong foundation in understanding ArcGIS products and capabilities, but these past few months have taken that knowledge to a new level. Between continuous learning through internal resources and real-world customer conversations, I’ve become much more confident not only in explaining what our technology can do, but also in helping customers envision how it fits into their work.
One exciting milestone so far has been taking over as the ISR for the Natural Resources and AEC Midwest sectors. Working with customers in these sectors has been especially rewarding because no two projects look the same. The diversity of teams, challenges, and goals makes every conversation interesting! I’ve loved talking with customers about in-field solutions, especially exploring the potential of tools like Field Maps and Survey123. Being assigned these territories has given me a wide variety of conversations, but all are connected by common uses/goals.
This momentum was highlighted when I was named ISR of the Month for December. Receiving recognition early on meant a lot to me. I’m grateful to be part of a team that values ownership, collaboration, continuous learning, and community involvement. It was incredibly motivating, and it pushes me to keep growing and contributing at a high level.
Equally meaningful, has been how my relationship with the team has evolved. As I’ve grown into the role, I’ve had the opportunity to help teach and support new hires who joined after me. Being able to give back, even in small ways, has reinforced how connected and supportive our team culture really is. Team of teams!
Looking ahead, I’m most excited about continuing to build relationships with customers, account teams, and colleagues across Esri. Supporting both new and existing projects, meeting more people, and helping customers turn ideas into action!
Three months in, I’m proud of how far I’ve come and even more excited about what’s next.
