I am using portal for ArcGIS 10.6.1 and ran into an issue I can't resolve today. So for our internal portal site we use all locally hosted data out of our SDE database. We do not have any users log in, it is all just shared to everybody and it has worked for us for years. Today I had a user request an additional layer be added to our basemap. After adding the layer and resharing the service the entire map will no longer load. Every map that uses this updated service gets the "The layer.......cannot be added to the map." error and will no longer load. At first I thought this was a chrome issue as I could only reproduce the error in chrome (everything loaded fine in edge) but I had the user who reported the issue (and who only uses chrome) try to open the map in edge and he still got the error. I have gone and removed the added layer and re-shared the service but it is still doing the same thing. I don't know what the issue here is or where to look. All the layers are coming out of the same SDE database with the same sde user. All the content is listed as shared with everyone in portal. I made no changed to any settings other than adding a layer and now anything that uses our base layer service will not work.
Any ideas on where to look?
