Copy and paste of layers or layout elements causes freeze since update to 3.5

Question

I'm using ArcGIS Pro 3.5.1.

If I copy and paste a layer from within the same map, or a layout element from within the same layout, there is now a freeze or large delay that did not happen before version 3.5.

It also happens between different maps, and different projects.

This is annoying as I prefer to copy and paste layers rather than add from .gdb so I can reserve the symbology etc.

Does anyone know why this might be happening since the update?

I also have this issue, and when I googled it, suggested workflows involve copying and pasting in map view instead of layout view, however most of my copying and pasting happens specifically when I'm working with layouts, such as copying and pasting exact layout elements like Titles, Text Elements, or North Arrows, etc - so copying in mapview is not an option. I'm usually trying to replicate the exact formatting or positioning for a related map, but often times when my layouts are far enough along that recreating the full layout is not feasible, such as reviewing for client edits. Please fix this.

Exactly! This most commonly occurs when trying to copy layers to retain symbology for me. Such a waste of time.

Has anyone identified a solution?

Yes it's so annoying. I'm trying to manually add labels to something and it's taking forever since it freezes each time. I also have it freeze when I'm copying symbology/labeling into another feature in the contents pane.
