Layers not editable ArcGISPRO

Question

Hello, I was using Arc MAPs for sometime. Recently I had to make a transition to Arc GIS PRO. I am working in a building project and using the building map to input observational data by using Arc GIS PRo. When I imported my map with several layers (which I created in Arc Map for 1 year) in Arc GIS pro all the layers became uneditable. Now I can not add/ move or remove data points in Arc GIS pro. Any suggestions to help me?

Did you move/relocate the source data? Is it stored locally?

The first thing I would check are the Selection & Editing tabs on the Contents pane.  By default, they show up on the left-hand side when you're looking at a map, unless you've moved them.

Circled in A are the two tabs in question.  The blue-shaded one is the selection tab; uncheck things to make them unselectable in the map, or vice versa.

The one with the pencil is the edit tab.  Same thing: Unchecked means I can't edit it, and checked means I can.  But also, notice those exclamation points circled at C.  Those mean I don't have permission to edit those data.  That's something I pulled from our organization's SDE that's controlled by a different department; I have read-only access to them.

If you were able to edit in Desktop, but not in Pro, I would predict the problem is likely just them being unchecked for some reason.  If you are getting the exclamation points, though, I would talk to whomever manages the database you're accessing.
