Wanted to share this here in case anyone needs it. There are currently problems with the default measure tool within experience builder, so I put together a very simple measure widget that people can use in the interim. For reference, here's a thread on the issues we are seeing in the default measure tool:

I created it pretty quickly, so I am sure there could be bugs, but it works for our team's purposes. The only caveat is that you have to finish the drawing in order to see the measurement, it doesn't show the distance or area as you are drawing.
