How to batch layer updating?

Question

Currently I have over 100 feature layers that need to be updated that all have different names. Annually I take a layer that covers a large geographic area and trim it and separate it into smaller layer files with using a select by location.

Is there a way to automate this?

Thanks, that seems to be the path. Only issue is there's multiple overlapping with different names.

If the geographic bounds have a named attribute then you may be able to split it into its constituent parts using
