ArcGIS Scene Layer - Rest URL - Error 500

I am trying to load a published scene layer using REST URL but it gives an error 500 (see image attached). It publishes fine in portal but error when trying to view. 
The issue is specific to scene layer package, other hosted services work fine. 

Any suggestions on how to resolve this issue?
