Components in an Unknown state

Question

Hi,

I've got some components in an unknown state - they still appear to be collecting but are in an unknown state - what causes this - is there any way to bump them back to nominal.

Hi Fraser. There's two scenarios that could cause this:

* None of the metrics associated with the component have alerting enabled. The solution would be to enable alerting and set alert thresholds as needed on at least one associated metric.
* There's an active incident that encompasses the components that is suppressing alerting. The solution would be to go to Administration > Incidents, find the offending incident, and enable "Alerting".
