Support Resources (file types?)

Hello Everyone

I've been used AGOL for a while to create StoryMaps and Interactive but I still get confused with the file types.  I'm fed up of bugging colleagues for help and want to learn more - what are the best (easy to follow for an idiot) resources out there?

I get confused between Web Mapping Applications, Web Maps, Map Images etc! Is there a simple way someone could explain what function each does?

Hi @SimonLaughton, It can be useful to think about a Web Map as the 'foundation' of the different applications you can build in ArcGIS Online. Applications bring Web Maps together into different user experiences.

When thinking about the application you want to create, this documentation is a good place to start: Choose an ArcGIS Configurable Apps template—ArcGIS Online Help | Documentation

This documentation walks through the purpose/functionality of each application type.
