Is there a way for an attribute table to contain a hyperlink allowing the person opening a popup to click on that email address to send an email to that person? This would be in a webapp.
Heh, well now I'm determined to solve this because it should be possible! I've circled all the areas to click to get to that interface in the screenshots below...
After adding the HTML we've discussed above, the pop-up looks like this, with both the email link and the attributes showing.
If you *still* aren't able to complete that workflow....I'm not sure. Confirming, are you the owner of the map that you are trying to edit the pop-ups for? What user type are you in AGOL?
so I've managed to add an email address to a popup but it opens as its own popup not as a part of the feature popup. I want the user to be able to edit a feature in the popup and then click on the email link to send an email

I have not, because this is outside my current skill set. I've searched for a variety of solutions online but everything I've found seems to come up a bit short.
I tried adding this based on sample HTML code that I found but it still shows just the email link in the popup and excludes any information derived from the attribute fields.
In map viewer classic, you can customize the entire pop-up using HTML, so you can use an <a href> tag to create the email link.
Here's an example of what the pop-up could look like. Attributes will populate where the field name is in curly brackets.

Does that work for what you need?
Not really. Doing it this way only shows the email address in the popup not the field in the attribute table for the feature.
Is it possible to show the attribute field information in the popup with the email address at the bottom of the popup box?
In the new map viewer, you click "Add Content" > "Text" under pop-up configurations to add custom HTML. If you don't want the default field list/pop-up format to display, delete the Field List section from the pop-up configuration menu.
I added on an additional response regarding doing this in the new map viewer. Is that the interface you're working in?
yes, I'm using the new Map Viewer.
I feel like I tried what you suggest above and still only got it to show just the email option but will try again.

am I using the wrong HTML code? I've never used HTML before.
It looks like you set it up just as text, not as code.
To enter as HTML code, make sure you are in the "source" view. You'll know you're in that view when the "OK" option is greyed out. When you switch out of source view (viewing the code) you should see a preview of what it will actually display as.
I couldn't access the Source window in the New Map Viewer and had to do this in Classic. Thanks for that.
And I was very excited to see that this allowed it to work in the New Map Viewer. Sadly, it still only brings up the email options without showing the columns I selected for the popup in Online.
I will assume that what I'm trying to do isn't possible.

First of all, I don't get the Source option in the Text box in New Map Viewer, only the Undo and Redo arrows so I had to do this portion in Classic.
First I selected Configure Attributes and selected the columns to show
Then I clicked the green Configure button and entered the correct HTML code in the Source screen.
Still my popup looks like this.
I own the map.
User Type = Creator
Role = Publisher 1 (Group Sharing)
No idea why the source option isn't available for you in the New Map Viewer pop-up configuration, but in Classic, when you enter HTML in a custom pop-up configuration, you have to manually add any fields you want to display in addition to the HTML. You do this by putting the field name in curly brackets within the regular text view (not the source HTML view)
Also, I had just assumed you were doing this in ArcGIS Online, but are you using Enterprise instead?
yes, I tried this in Classic. I didn't manually add fields just places checkmarks next to the boxes in Configure Attributes so that might be the missing link (so to speak).
And, yes, in Enterprise not just Online which is a new platform to me used by my present employer.
I added the fields manually within the Text box and this is now working with the email link and columns showing in the popup. I had thought adding them through the popup Configure Attributes link was the correct approach.

I'm glad you finally got it to work! I believe the fact that you are doing this in Enterprise instead of AGOL is the answer as to why you don't have the "Source" option in New Map Viewer. (depending on what version of Enterprise you're running....but AGOL will always be the most current because it is updated by Esri). Anyway, yes, seems like in your case, configuring in Map Viewer Classic is the way to go, even though it's unfortunately a bit cumbersome with manually adding those fields.
