Create Least Cost Paths using the same starting and ending points

Hi there

I am trying to create least cost paths using the same starting and ending points, however, I am getting this error: Point is outside of Input Cost Surface. The cost surface is a slope layer that I created from a DEM.

I first checked if the point were within the cost surface and they are, then I reprojected both the cost surface and the points to be in the same coordinate system. This did not work.

I am having the same issue when I try to use the cost path function.

Is someone able to help?

basically, you need at least 2 different points. An origin and a destination. If they are the same point, you went nowhere, you stayed put, no path to follow. So pick a destination point which is different than the origin. Go there, then if you want to see the return path, reverse the order of the inputs and come back

I am not entirely sure I understand what you are saying. So the 'settlement_tlokwa' point layer is the layer that I want to use as the source and destination. Are you saying that I must first choose the ending point then the starting point?

You have to pick a destination first. I don't see it in the maps table of contents. That is, you have to go somewhere before you can return
