Can I create a new column in the attribute table (Not a new field)

Hey, I am working on my attribute table and would like to add a new set of data that would be in the same row as OBJECTID, Shape, Date, etc. Is this possible? Whenever I search online, I keep getting answers about adding a new field which is not what I want, I want to add the opposite by adding a new column. Anyone know what I can do? I would appreciate some help!

"Field" and "column" are the same thing. "Column" is more often used in purely table based applications, like Excel. "Field" is often used in database applications. Both mean "the vertical sections of a table".

Thanks for the help! I just want to know, is there a specific button to press to add the new column? I am never given the option to create a new column when I press to add a new field or literally check anywhere at all on my attribute table

Add Field is exactly what you are asking.

Red = Field (aka Column)

Green = Data (aka Row )
