Best workflow for converting existing feature into different schema?

I need to convert my existing address feature to another schema. What would be the easiest way to go about this?

It really depends on how different. Are you changing the number / type of fields? Are you creating new calculated values?

I would create the new feature class first, then use the Append tool with the Use field map to reconcile differences option to route the appropriate in / out field values as needed.
