get Z values from LAS surface

hey, i have a LAS surface .

i created some points on that surface , and i want to get the Z value for each point 

i know that i can do it via 3d analyst tool , BUT i want to find a way the do it without this tool, maybe a python code or something...

The only way I know how to extract Z information from a LAS dataset is the "Add Z Information" GP tool from the 3D Analyst toolbox.  You can see the Python code for the ArcMap "flavor" of the tool here.
