ArcMap 10.6 (Windows10) Failure when selecting polygons by rectangle

Hi guys,

as a Student of Geography i use ArcMap for Desktop (10.6) on Windows 10. Everytime i try to do this, the system fails: Activate the button 'Select Features by Rectangle' in the Tools Toolbar. Select every polygon
which is not visible in the ancient map by pressing the Shift-Key.

it is probably a projection issue.  Are you using a regional projection?  Some your polygons may be out side of your projection area.  Copy the date to a new database with new feature dataset that is using a world wide projection
