We have several Error 25 showing up, which I understand to be stacked or duplicate points. In our asset data we have an active flag attribute of "Proposed" and "Active". Which allows us to add in a proposed new asset in the same location as an existing active asset. In doing reading for both Trace Network and Utility Network, the suggestion is to adjust the z value for the proposed assets so anything flagged as proposed is no longer sharing the same x.y.z as the active asset.

I have z enabled my features. I tried following the steps found in this link. Starting an editing session and selecting all active assets and then use the Edit Vertices, BUT I can't batch update the z value. I have hundreds of assets that fall under the proposed value, so I need a batch update option.

I found the Add Z Information tool as well as the Adjust 3d Z tool. Are these what Esri suggests we use to make these batch updates? Is that the intention of these tools?

Thank you in advance,

Vanessa

I am trying to decide between changing the z values for assets not in service (abandoned, proposed) or copying them into separate feature classes before removing them from the UN. Is there a reason you are going with the z value method as opposed to having separate feature classes?
