Does anyone know when some kind of MediaLayer will be available in the .net sdk since the JavaScript-Version has it?
One of our most anticipated usecases is to display geolocated Images / Videos on the 2D map. We tried RasterLayer, KML etc. All those methods fall short and one would think that this is a super common usecase for many clients.
More broadly: Is there any kind of RoadMaps what is expected to come in the product and when?
Hi,
MediaLayer is on our roadmap for a future release (existing ArcGIS Idea / request). Unfortunately we currently don't have a timeline to share, but we have received a number of requests for this feature which will help us prioritize appropriately during our next planning phase.
Regarding the broader roadmap, although we don't publicly document this, we do present the product roadmap at each Esri Dev Summit (Palm Springs in Q2, Berlin in Q4) and Esri User Conference (San Diego in Q3) in-person/virtual events, and recordings are later published. In those sessions we discuss the roadmap for the next release, which may be up to 3 months out. Occasionally, we're able to share news of the longer-term roadmap when we're working on epics that span multiple release cycles.
We encourage you to use the ArcGIS Ideas section for the SDKs to upvote (kudo) ideas and submit new requests.
Thanks
Thanks for your response.
Is there any way to achieve something similar until the feature is available? Someone told me that i could use WorldFiles and RasterLayers? We never got that to work. Is there a sample / documentation of how to accomplish that ideally with respecting PNG Transparancy?
Thanks for the info. Yes i am aware of the SceneView capabilities.
Our application is based on MapView though. Therefor as i pointed out we need that functionality with a 2D Map.
What about the WorldFile, PNG option that was mentioned, would that work?
