See subject.  When attempting to compress a versioned ArcSDE Geodatabase, I get an error code -43 SE_LOG_NOEXIST error in my COMPRESS_LOG table.

Platform: ArcSDE 10.0 on Oracle 11.2

Does anyone know how I would begin troubleshooting this?

May be related to log file configuration?  ArcGIS Desktop

Hi George,

Thanks for the response.  I'm aware of and have read both of those help topics.  What I'm missing is what that error is actually telling me and how to fix it.  I could play with the log file settings for probably a week straight but without more information it's not much more than random trial and error.  Do you have any more specific information?

Thank you,

Michael

Nothing more specific. You could turn on the SDEINTERCEPT on the client and see where the error is occurring? Deciphering Errors within ArcSDE | Support Services Blog

When was the last time that a compress successfully completed?

What version of ArcGIS client are you using?

Are you using 3-tier connection or direct connections?

Can you provide a workflow for the compress?

Can the SDE user add features to a map and select over 100 of them? Try to select 200+ and see of that works?
