Hi,

I have the book Getting to Know ArcGIS Pro 2.8 with the full license.

In 4 instances I got the message that I didn't have a license to finish the exercise or there was an error in the data:

Adding IL_food_desert.lyrx has exclamation mark when inserting in database (Exercise 3D) and nothing can be done with it

Running the Build Definition Query created error the second time I used this (Exercise 5A)

Using the kernel density was not licensed (Exercise 8A)

Extract by Mask was not licensed (Exercise9A)

And why are there no emails of the writers in the book?

the licensing is spelled out in the text. some exercises require the the spatial analyst extension.

the .lyrx file intentionally contains a broken link. do you know what that file is? you need to use the 'repair data source' tools to fix it.

you need to be a 'problem solver' to use GIS software.
