We have a Trimble GeoXT 3000/2008 series

ArcPad 10.0.3

The firmware is all up to date on the device, it gets a fix, but the skyplot does not show anything.

Anyone else have this issue, fixes?

Hi Miles,

What are the settings in ArcPad > GPS Preferences > GPS on your Geo 3000 unit? What are the Serial Port Parameters (accessed via ? Is the NMEA port setting reading GSV sentence? Often the empty skyplot can be resolved by resetting NMEA GPS protocol in Trimble's GPS Controller software, http://www.trimble.com/support_trl.asp?Nav=Collection-31616.

If after modifying settings you still have an empty skyplot in ArcPad, please submit a support interaction with Esri Support via phone, email, web for or chat options.

Cheers,
Denise

ArcPad GPS Preferences:
Protocol: NMEA 0183
Baud: 4800
DataBits: 8
StopBits: 1
Parity: Odd
--As the hardware documentation recommends.

It must be reading the GSV statements as the number of satellites shows up in the Quality tab of the GPS Position Window, just nothing in the Skyplot.

We'll try resetting the NMEA protocol via GPS Controller and enter a support ticket if it doesn't work.  Thanks for the suggestion.
