I have seen a lot of discussion about repeats only taking up the first column no matter what width the group it's in is set at. The solution is to put another parent group set at w1, and then create child groups within that parent group that can be configured with more columns. However,  I want to have a group that collects information about sprinklers in a building and then a repeat within that group that allows users to add one note at a time. The purpose for the one note at a time is because I want it to populate a word document report as bulleted items so it's easy to read. I'd prefer for the repeat to live inside the child group. And in some cases I want to have more than one repeat within one group. I have provided screen shots. Thanks for the help.

So you want the repeat to take up 2 columns of the group?

I think you can do this by adding a span number to the appearance.

w2:2

Adding this to the repeat would take up 2 columns, spanning two columns of the parent group.
