Section link to sidecar slide?

For navigation in a storymap, I am using section links to subheadings for each slide in a docked sidecar. This works ok for displaying the correct text portion for slides, BUT the related map linked on the media panel always shows the map from the first slide only, regardless which slide I link to. A quick scroll up/down fixes that behaviour - but obviously I'd like to have the complete slide displayed.

Is this a bug, or ...? Thanks, Josef

@Josef_Strobl -- I'm sorry to hear that you are seeing an issue with your story. The links appear to work as expected when I paste them into a new browser tab, but I can reproduce the issue you've described with the links you've added directly to your story.

This looks like a bug and we're looking into it. Thank you for reporting this. I'll post back here when we have more information.

Hi @OwenGeo, is there an update on when this issue will be fixed? I submitted a case to Esri in August 2024 because of this issue and was told that the issue must be some "bug" unique to my StoryMaps and to recreate them from scratch. Unfortunately, this is not the solution as this issue still exists in the recreated StoryMaps. I submitted another case today (#03757262) if you want to full details.  Thanks.

@OwenGeo something I've observed with the StoryMaps I've had this issue with is they have a large number of slides within a single sidecar (25-50 slides). In the most recent case, the StoryMap I am working on had no issues until I added the 14th or 15th slide to the sidecar and then the issue began.

@Josef_Strobl, in your StoryMap with this issue, do you know how many slides are in the sidecar?
