ArcGIS Pro 2.8.4: Checking and unchecking the “add to display” option of outputs of “add field”, “field calculator”, and “join field” tools has no effect,

I observed that checking and unchecking the “add to display” option of outputs of “add field”, “field calculator”, and “join field” tools has no effect and thus the corresponding feature class in the content pane is not added\removed from these outputs

Is this by design?
