Currently (I'm using Pro 3.0.3), when searching in "all commands" in the "customize ribbon" options page, searching for rectangle does not give any options for drawing a rectangle. In other words it is not possible to assign create a rectangle to a shortcut. This is used a lot when digitizing or capturing buildings and it is time consuming having to click on the create features template each time to start drawing.
Yes! As the leader of a Derivatives team (we produce building footprints, impervious surface, hydro, landcover, etc.) we have lost so much productivity by the create features tools not being able to be tied to hot keys. We have been making the push to switch to Pro and this has been one of the most disappointing findings.
This Idea has been implemented in ArcGIS Pro 3.2. Please see the What's New documentation for more new features in Pro 3.2.
The Your Ideas in ArcGIS Pro 3.2 blog and video have been posted to the Esri Community blog. You can take a look at these to see your idea and all others that were implemented in this release of ArcGIS Pro.
