ESRI has provided XML grid and graticule files to use for the tool "Make Grid and Graticules layer" from the cartography tool box for ArcGIS Desktop users. However the ESRI provided XML files only relate to America. These can be found inside of Program Files\ArcGIS\Desktop10.0\Grid Templates

In version 10.2, it would be a great idea to provide us XML grid and graticule files covering Australia so that we can use the "Make Grid and Graticules Layer" tool for Australian coverage.

It would be great if when you open the "Make Grid and Graticules layer", and you are in the first box called "Grid template (XML file)" and you click on the open folder icon that it directly takes you inside the storage area for the Grid templates at Program Files\ArcGIS\Desktop10.0\Grid Templates so you are looking at teh list of available XMLs. Currently when you click on the open folder icon,  it takes you two steps up to Program Files\ArcGIS\Desktop10.0\Bin0EM30000000Cy8L

Coordinate systems that would be most beneficial for Australian users are:
Geographic Coordinate System - Geocentric Datum of Australia 1994
Projected Coordinate Systems - GDA 1994 MGA Zones (from 48 through to 58)

Here is what we have access to currently - American only:

ArcGIS Desktop is in mature support and will be retired March 1, 2026 so we won’t be considering this idea. We recommend that you migrate to ArcGIS Pro, our fully supported desktop GIS application. See Migrate from ArcMap to ArcGIS Pro for more information. Thank you for taking the time to share your ideas. We truly appreciate your contributions to continuously improving the software to help you do your work and look forward to what ideas you have for ArcGIS Pro.
