ArcGIS Pro 3.1.3; File Geodatabase:
In ArcMap, it was clear what subtype was the default:
In ArcGIS Pro, the default subtype is indicated by bolding the subtype in the Fields View:
It's not always obvious to users that bold means default.
Is there anything that could be done to make the default more obvious to non-experts? Such as suffixing the subtype name with "[Default]"? Or something better?
Thanks for the idea @Bud
We use bold in quite a few places to draw attention to certain unique objects or labels, and our pattern is usually to clarify these bolded objects with some hover text. You can see what I mean if you hover over the bolded subtype field in the same Subtypes View in ArcGIS Pro. The hover text displays "Subtype Field: <field name>" in place of displaying the field name only.
It looks like in the case you've brought up there is no hover text! I can see how that would be useful to address, and assist new users in better understanding the Subtypes View.
Thanks for bringing this up.
