I have seen this error a couple of times, but figured it was just a bug after the recent AGOL update. However, it is happening again (after not seeing it for a few days).
When I publicly share a map (this one has a single read only view layer shared publicly and uses the ESRI Community basemap), I get a error when I save the map that says I don't have permission to update an item in the map. I understand this error, and I generally find it to be helpful. However, this error is telling me that I don't have permission to update the sharing of the Community basemap that is added to the map.
This happens with other basemaps as well, but the Community one is what I used for the screenshot that is attached.
Is this a bug? Am I doing something wrong?
Yes! Its driving me mad! Its messing up soooo many apps I have. With that update I am also seeing map labels that are now reformated to look aweful, and now some of my survey123 data is not working in the map viewers? What kind of an update did they do?
currently happening to our Enterprise 11.3
